Sonjia Muhfuckin’ Williams!

I promise at some point, I’m going to talk about something other than fashion; but for now – Sonjia Muhfuckin’ Williams! I’ve been a fan of hers since first seeing her on season 10 of Project Runway because of her unique aesthetic.

Sonjia has an IGTV show called “Way to Wear Wednesdays” where she takes some of her favorite pieces and shows how they can be worn with just about anything for any occasion. That is part of Sonjia’s magic: She makes versatile (and I do love things that are…versatile) pieces that can be worn together as one look or as separates to create a completely different outfit. Sonjia’s looks are relatable and her woman feels familiar. To me, Sonjia designs for the modern and chic Black woman. Her customer is fresh and vibrant, stylish and cool, bold and daring yet classy and refined. Her Jasmine & Audriana crop tops are…EVERYTHING!!! The Lynn sweatshirt & Liam Color Block Pleated pant – OMG! The only thing I don’t like about her: She doesn’t make menswear! The price point for her pieces are so attractive that, if she did design for men, I’d probably go broke buying up everything!
